From the first day of operation back in 1985, car-hire-kefalonia.com mission was always to serve our customers secure, quality and value for money car rentals. Throughout the years and after having gained experience operating within the car rental sector we also highly focused on providing tailored made car rentals in coombination with our friendliest touch possible. Today our main office is located in Lassi (near the capital of the island, Argostoli) whereas two branch offices operate in Scala and Lourdas. Moreover we can serve you at the airport at all times as well as deliver and/or collect your car to most of the resorts throughout the island, all free of charge (excluding Assos, Fiscardo and Lixouri).
| How to reserve?|
Reserving your rental car from car-hire-kefalonia.com is as simple as filling in our reservation form. Kindly notice that you can also use our reservation form in order to just get a quote and compare prices. Once you have filled out the form a reply with the quote for your car rental period will be sent and then it is up to you if you wish to accept or reject our car rental offer. Please notice that no quotes will be provided if the necessary fields of the reservation form are not filled in.
| How many days in advance we should make reservation?|
From our experience in the car rental business of the island we would advice potential clients wishing to book a car within the high season (1st of July - 30th of September) to book their car as early as possible as availability is not granted. There is usually also a high demand and therefore a low availability rate for automatic cars, 7 & 9-seater cars as well as Jeeps (throughout the summer period).
| How to secure reservation?|
In order to secure your booking, a 35% prepayment (deposit) of your total car rental fee is required. This deposit can be paid either through your credit card (by filling in our authorization form) or through a bank payment (please ask for details). Once the deposit is received a final confirmation e-mail will be sent with details of where you can collect your car. No reservation is secured if the deposit has not been received before the first day of rental.
| What happens if I cancel?|
Our cancellation policy is as straight forward as possible as you may cancel your reservation up untill three days before the first day of rental with a full refund of your paid deposit. For cancellations of reservations less than three days before the first day of rental, the deposit that has been paid will be withhled. Kindly notice that no refunds (irrespectively of the date that you inform us) will be given for cancellations of bookings for automatic cars, 7 & 9-seater cars as well as for jeeps.
| How to pick up a reserved car?|
All the necessary details of the location where you can pick up your rental car will be stated on the final confirmation e-mail that will be sent once your booking is secured. In order to collect your rental car, a valid driving license as well as credit card (Visa or Mastercard) will have to be presented.
| How to return a rental car?|
Similarly to the collection precedure of your rental car, the return procedure will be explained in details at the first day of your rental. In any case please keep with you your copy of the contract as failure to do so may result in not receiving back your credit card slip which will be kept for security reasons at the first day of your rental.
| What is included in the price?|
Our rates as those are stated in our cars & prices section include the following:
- Unlimited mileage
- Collision Damage Waiver (with a deductible amount of 450.00 Euro/550.00 Euro/700.00 Euro depending on the car category booked
- Third party insurance
- Fire & Theft insurance
- One additional driver if wished
- Child/Booster seat(s) if wished
- A detailed map of Kefalonia & Ithaca
- 24 hours breakdown assistance
- Permission to take the rental car to Ithaca
| Which payment methods do we accept?|
Payment can be made in cash (Euro only) or by credit/debit card (Visa & Mastercard). Unfortunately we do not accept any traveller checks or Amex.
| What happens in case of a break down?|
All our cars are checked in detail (tyres, oil levels, interior cleanliness) after the end of each car rental so break downs are relatively rare. However should you have any kind of problem with your rental car our technical department will do its best to fix it as soon as possible. In the event of a major problem, car-hire-kefalonia.com will replace your car with the same or higher category car at the earliest possible time. On the first day of your rental, our 24 hour emergency number will be given and the relevant number can also be found on our business card which is included in all of our cars.
